One of the largest mosques in the world, built right on the Atlantic shoreline so its prayer hall opens onto the sea. The minaret rises over 200 metres and is visible from most of western Casablanca — a useful landmark when you are finding your way back to a coastal hotel.
Non-Muslim visitors can join a guided tour outside prayer times to see the interior. Parking nearby fills up fast on weekends and public holidays, so arrive early if you are driving yourself.
